Windows 10 is a significant change from earlier
versions of Windows. It combines the best of touch based
devices like tablets with the traditional mouse and
keyboard version of Windows that you are already
familiar with.
Should You Buy or Upgrade to Windows 10?
New PCs If you are buying a new PC the answer is easy - Yes.
Windows 10 is the fastest, most secure version of
Windows and is better than Windows 8 or 7 for all types
of PCs.
Upgrading from Windows 8 or 8.1 If you are currently using Windows 8 then the answer
is also easy - Yes. Windows 10 refines the Windows 8
user interface and adds great new features like Cortana.
Upgrading to Windows 10 is free for the first year of
its release.
Upgrading from Windows 7 If you are currently using Windows 7 then the answer
is less obvious. If you don't have a touch screen
computer and don't like change then you should stick
with Windows 7. You might want to turn off automatic
installation of updates to prevent an unwanted upgrade. If there are features you like in
Windows 10 or want to have the same version of Windows
on all your devices then, yes, you should upgrade. The
upgrade is free during the first year of its release.
If you don't like it - rollback You can also roll back to your previous version of
Windows within 30 days of the upgrade.

If you are new to Windows 10, watch the excellent Get
Started app from Micosoft that comes with Windows 10. It should
already be in your Start Menu. If you can't locate it, just type
"Get Started" in the Cortana search bar.
